First Baptist is a private school located in Charleston, South Carolina in
the heart of the historic downtown district. Founded in 1949, the school's mission statement is "Academic Excellence
with a Christian Perspective." While the school has fielded a baseball team off and on over the course of the years,
since 2006, the Varsity team has has double digit wins each season with an overall winning percentage of over .500. Since
then, the Baseball program has also introduced not only a JV team but also a B-Team for the Middle School grades. Their home
facilities are located on James Island just across the Ashley River from the peninsula campus. The 2008 season saw some historical
markers for the program as they defeated several perennial power programs as well as falling one game short of reaching the
state semi-finals.
